Basil from the mint family (Labiatae) is more than just a popular, pleasantly scented spice.
In the kitchen with legumes, pork and veal dishes, fish, vegetables, salads and classically in tomato soup, pizza and pasta.
It is best added shortly before the end of the preparation, then it develops its aroma more strongly. Unfortunately, if you cook it for too long, it loses a lot of its flavor.

💡 Tip

Basil tea recipe:
Add 1 teaspoon dried basil to 1 cup boiling water. Cover and let stand for 5 minutes.
Drink 2-3 cups slowly daily.
