Olive leaves have been used in Portugal for a long time in traditional medicine. The main active ingredient is the so-called oleuropein.
Pour 2 teaspoons of olive leaves with 1/4 liter of boiling water, infuse for 10 minutes.
Hildegard von Bingen used tea from olive leaves for the treatment of high blood pressure, but also for stomach upset and indigestion.
Drunk before falling asleep, the tea has a relaxing effect and promotes sleep.
