The drying of the figs takes place as a natural process on the tree, so the unique aroma is very well preserved.

. The dried figs have a higher energy content (247 kcal/100 g) due to the lower water content (23 %). The content of fibre, vitamins and minerals is also 2-3 times higher than that of fresh figs. Origin: Turkey
Fig jam with red wine < br />< br /> 250 g dried figs
500 ml water
400 ml dry red wine
500 Gielier sugar 2:1
1 tsp grated peel of untreated orange
1 teaspoon grated rind of an untreated lemon
3 tablespoons lemon juice
1 pinch cinnamon
some vanilla (vanilla sticks art.no.6650 or 1 drop vanilla oil art.no.4315)

Chop or puree the dried figs very finely. Then bring the figs to the boil with water, lemon juice and all spices and simmer for a few minutes. Stir in the preserving sugar and finally add the red wine. Bring everything to the boil again quickly and let it boil for 5 minutes. Do not forget to stir. Fill everything immediately into glasses.
The glasses should be upside down for a few minutes so that the figs are well distributed in the glass.
A treat for a special breakfast.
