Carefully collected hawthorn blossoms and hawthorn leaves from controlled cultivation are carefully dried and then roughly cut to achieve the best results in tea preparation.
This excellent blend is an ideal basis for preparing a pleasantly tasty tea. Already after approx. 10 minutes brew, the tea unfolds its sweet aroma. With its sweet, spicy and pleasant tea taste, an additional sweetening is not absolutely necessary (just matter of taste).
The heavily fortified hawthorn bush (Crataegus monogyna) is much cultivated as a hedge for boundaries. It loves particularly loamy and calcareous soils, which are abundant here. The many, strong thorns protect the bush, at the same time it is a very popular place for bees and other insects and at harvest time an important source of food for many bird species.
For a cup of approx. 150 - 200 ml, 1.5 - 2 g of the mixture of hawthorn flowers and leaves (Crataegi folium cum flore) should be covered with boiling water, after approx. 10 minutes remove the tea strainer. Three cups of tea are recommended throughout the day.
In medical literature already described in the 14th century for: Positive in heart failure, as well as recommended for calming and stress.
At a recommended daily dose for an adult of 5 g of the mixture of hawthorn flowers and leaves no risks and side effects are known. Due to the known mode of action, pregnant women and children under the age of 12 should refrain from drinking it.
