The trade in tuna is also controversial here. We have nevertheless decided to support the efforts of Azores fishermen to traditionally catch and process tuna by hand. Since 2014, the fishing of Atlantic tuna in Portugal has been strictly regulated and fishing with trawl nets is prohibited.
