Anise is a species of plant in the umbelliferous family. Anise is used as a spice and medicinal plant and was the medicinal plant of the year in Germany in 2014.
It is also widely used in cooking, especially for seasoning fish and poultry.
Anise can also be found in sweet delicacies such as cakes and cookies.
Processed as a tea, anise combines very well with fennel seeds.

💡 Tip

Anise syrup recipe:
Dissolve 250g brown sugar in 250ml hot water. Then add 60 g of aniseed. Let it steep for 1 hour, filter through a sieve and pour into sealable jars or bottles.
Take a teaspoon of it several times a day.
