The sweet carob powder, which is rich in fiber and has a taste reminiscent of caramel, contains hardly any fat, but contains many healthy minerals such as calcium and iron as well as vitamins A, B and many secondary plant substances.
It tastes similar to cocoa powder, but contains neither caffeine nor theobromine, nor cholesterol nor gluten, making it a healthy substitute for baking or cooking and perfect for people with chocolate allergies. The flour is made from the pulp of the middle pieces of the pods.

💡 Tip

Mix 1-2 teaspoons of carob powder in cold or warm milk or stir into the respective dish. It refines, among other things, sweet dishes, spreads, cakes, creams and ice cream. It can be used to prepare cakes, tarts, cookies and carob liqueur.
Because of its natural sugar content, cakes made with carob flour instead of wheat flour are very suitable for diabetics and can be part of a gluten-free diet. The taste of carob powder is reminiscent of cocoa and a cake baked with it is reminiscent of a chocolate cake.
