The black pork from the "Montado Alentejo" delivers a unique meat with an incomparable taste and texture.
The manufacturing process uses natural curing without the use of ovens or stoves.
The ripening of the products occurs thanks to the microclimate of the region, which gradually gives the products an exceptional taste.

Montaraz is a company that processes the meat of free-range black pigs. It is located in Garvão, in the heart of the Alentejo, in the municipality of Ourique, capital of the Alentejo pig.
This project was born from the will of a group of Black Pig producers and some elements associated with the processing of this excellent meat. They are moved by passion for the breed and are committed to disseminating and making available to the market the quality products they can produce.
Production is monitored and controlled on the partners' farms, where the animals graze freely and take advantage of the ecosystem prevalent in the Alentejo, characterized by holm and cork oak forests, where the Black Pig exploits the acorn, a fruit rich in oleic acid from these trees , which, together with the genetics of the breed, gives the meat a fatty infiltration, which is reflected in a characteristic marbling of this meat, which makes it unique and healthy and gives it a distinctive taste and aroma.
